The smart home market is experiencing explosive growth. Data shows that in the first half of this year, the domestic smart home market scale surpassed 500 billion yuan, marking a year-on-year increase of 25%. Sales of categories such as smart home appliances, security devices, and environmental control terminals have all reached record highs. Amid this trend, neodymium-iron-boron (NdFeB) magnets, with their high energy product characteristics, have emerged as a key material driving performance enhancements in smart home products.

In the field of smart door locks, fingerprint recognition modules utilizing NdFeB magnets have seen response times reduced to 0.3 seconds, with recognition accuracy reaching 99.8%. Compared to traditional electromagnetic solutions, power consumption has been lowered by 60%. A leading enterprise has launched a fully automatic smart lock that incorporates eight miniature NdFeB magnets, enabling a keyhole-free design and enhancing resistance to forced entry by threefold.

The upgrade of robotic vacuum cleaners also heavily relies on the empowerment of NdFeB magnets. Equipped with NdFeB-powered LDS laser radar, the scanning range has been extended to 8 meters, with mapping accuracy reaching ±2cm. When paired with magnetic navigation sensors, obstacle avoidance response times have been shortened to 0.1 seconds. The integrated sweeping and mopping machine incorporates 23 NdFeB magnets, driving the motor speed up to 18,000 revolutions per minute, improving cleaning efficiency by 40%, while reducing noise levels to 52 decibels.

Smart curtains, magnetic levitation desk lamps, and other home products have achieved contactless transmission through the use of NdFeB magnets, extending their service life to over 100,000 hours. After adopting NdFeB magnets, a certain brand's smart curtain motor has seen its traction force increased to 80N, with operational energy consumption reduced by 50%.

Currently, the industry faces technical challenges such as miniaturization of high-performance magnets and anti-corrosion treatments, which domestic enterprises are accelerating to overcome. It is projected that by 2025, the demand for NdFeB magnets in the smart home sector will exceed 5,000 tons, driving more low-power, high-precision smart products into ordinary households.
